Lent is a time to focus on the meaning of Christ's selfless sacrifice in our own lives. As we listen intently for God's voice, profound clarity can arise by doing so in the company of others.
This is an invitation to men who would like to observe Lent among a small cohort of brothers, especially those who identify as Catholic (actively or at a distance.) As we shake free of distractions, we will welcome Lent as a time to bond, grow and challenge ourselves in an intense renewal of faith.
We will gather twice weekly during Lent (March 5 to April 17) to delve into faith, food, fitness, focus, and friends — the five components of the Daniel Plan (https://www.danielplan.com/#), a model that will guide us along this enlightening journey together. A good portion of our time will be spent learning and listening, but equally we'll be hands on with preparing great food, getting some exercise and fine tuning our minds — all the things that strengthen us to be the men Jesus would have us be.
This is not a church-sponsored program in any way. I am a health coach focused on men's unique concerns, who also thinks of Catholicism as the original personal transformation program. I believe the Catholic faith itself is a coherent set of beliefs that tames the chaos in our lives and points us to higher ground.
If you are a man acquainted with Catholic traditions and feel inspired to welcome this Lenten season as an opportunity to rediscover practices that can truly transform your life, please get in touch to learn more.
