Lost And Found: An Evening of Original Music by John Mackenzie
in Celebration of People, Place, and Community
Saturday, February 22, 7 pm
Peacham Congregational Church and Meeting House
After the life-altering floods of July 2024, John Makenzie and his family found themselves both born (and borne) again by the incredible support they received from the Peacham community, as well as from friends further afield. This support took many forms--from financial to practical to emotional to musical: by giving John access to a piano in the library basement in the weeks following the flood, the team at Peacham Library laid the groundwork for emotional and creative recovery, and planted the seed for a celebration, through words, images, and original music, of Peacham's enduring community.
This special community event is scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd at 7 pm in Peacham Congregational Church and Meeting House. All are welcome, the event is free to attend. Any donations will be gratefully received and will benefit the Peacham Library. Following the performance, join us for a reception in the social hall.
In addition to the North Star Monthly article, a wonderful article about John and the concert was in the Caledonian Record this week. As a quick clarification, the concert is a FREE community event and not admission by donation. If people choose to make a donation, it will be gratefully received but is not a condition of admission. Also, as a very late development, the noted filmmaker, Bess O'Brien has been invited to the event, and will be filming portions of the event.
