A good, old fashioned white VT winter is upon us….lots of snow and cold.
Why not come inside for a while, steep in bright colors and summer sunshine….and plan your gardens?
The Huntington Conservation Commission is sponsoring a presentation: "Planting for Native Pollinators"
Next week Saturday, Feb 15 (2:30 at Huntington Library) the two creators of the Addison County Pollinator Pathway will describe how and why they created their Pathway…and the fun and mistakes that occurred along the way.
50 of VT's 350 native bee species are in danger of extinction. Mostly due to loss of habitat and use of poisons.
Gardens planted with native food for native bees are part of the solution. Fran Putnam and Bethany Barry will explain more about why natives are important and show examples of various garden designs.
So, please come Feb 15. And…….check out the Huntington Pollinator Pathway map in the library entrance. And……buy a raffle ticket to win an entire native plant garden….dug and planted for you by the HCC!
