Take the next step in Tinmouth's journey to learn more about the past, present, and future of black ash trees near Tinmouth Channel and throughout the region. Black ash trees are threatened by emerald ash borer, a non-native beetle that feeds on and kills native species of ash trees.
This field walk will focus on the visual traits of black ash and the ecology of black ash swamps and forests. The group will also discuss the role of black ash in Abenaki culture and upcoming opportunities to learn how to pound black ash trees into splints for future use.
