"CLOSE KNIT" Dorian McGown Before and After Flood……
This show features knitted and whittled storybook characters created and shared with his wife Kari. The Hobbit and Charlotte's Web gave inspiration to some of the creations shown. In addition, many retrieved from the July 2024 flood that took his studio have surfaced in a file cabinet buried in the riverbed. Portraits of people in our community shine through the grit that shows the resilience in face of forces beyond our control. "Close Knit" celebrates the healing inherent in artistic process.
