The third 2025 Farmers Night performance will feature writer and educator Kenneth M. Cadow – on Wednesday, February 5 at 7:30 (doors at 7:00pm) in the Vermont State House chamber. As a National Book Award Finalist Cadow will discuss his 2023 young adult novel, Gather. Topics Cadow covers are related to community building and the larger issues of poverty, housing insecurity, and addiction. Gather brings an emotional and ultimately hopeful story of one teen's resilience in the face of unthinkable hardships. This will be an evening of insightful perspective and inclusive conversation.
Cadow is currently co-principal of Oxbow High School in Bradford, helping to oversee around 400 students. He is the father of three adult children, and lives in Pompanoosuc, Vermont with his wife, and their dog, Quinnie. FREE and Open to the Public.

This year's Farmers Night offerings from January - April include 12 weekly Wednesday performances, with the exception of a break for Town Meeting in early March.
The Farmers Night Concert Series is a longstanding State House tradition which goes back over 100 years to a time when lawmakers entertained themselves in the House Chamber mid-week while away from home. Artists from around the state, in genres ranging from classical music to bluegrass to barbershop, perform in the well of the House Chamber each Wednesday night during the legislative session—and the concerts are free and open to the public. For the entire series, visit 2025 Farmers Night.
