Local (Sunderland, VT) author Philip R. Jordan will read from and discuss his new, historical Vermont novel
Bootlegger, Bullets and Brothers in the Kingdom on February 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Martha Canfield
Library in Arlington, Vermont. Copies of the book will be available. Jordan is the retired (2019) editor & publisher of Vermont Magazine and this novel is his fourth book.
"Bootleggers, Bullets & Brothers in the Kingdom takes us for a high-speed chase through the darkness of Vermont in a 1932 Packard, just ahead of the law...in a coming-of-age tale set in Lyndonville and St. Johnsbury in the Great Depression. Jordan artfully brings characters Joey Ross and his older brother to life: their vulnerability to criminals and how those waters are navigated makes for a compelling story." (Rick Norcross, former photographer/entertainment editor of the Miami Times, and bandleader of Rick and the All Star Ramblers Western Swing Band, focusing on songs about Vermont.)
