Special Contra Dance (With Entertainment) This Saturday!

Past event
Dec 13, 2014, 7:30 to 10 PM

Be sure to come to Cabot's family-friendly contra dance this Saturday--in addition to a chance to dance to the excellent calling of Peter Johnson, the break will also feature a longsword dance performance by Midnight Capers, our local Morris team, and an entertaining Mummers' play by folks from Cabot Community Theater! Come to the Willey Building in Cabot on Saturday, December 13 at 7:30!

Longsword dances hail from northern England, and involve 6 dancers and 6 swords weaving cool intricate patterns before your very eyes, probably unlike anything else you've seen before!

Mummers' plays are short, traditional bits of foolishness found all over England, often seen around the time of the shortest day, to remind us lightheartedly that the sun will return, and we have added some unique Cabot flair to what you'll see on Saturday! Performers include: Lori Augustyniak, Clara and Karen Mueller-Harder, Billie and Declan O'Connor, Marion Palmiero, Leo Parlo, Dick Payne, and Lori and Lila Stratton. Will St. George defeat the dragon? The answer may surprise you!
