Join ski historian Brian Lindner and "Searching for Vermont's Lost Ski Areas" exhibit curator Poppy Gall as they share the history of 15 lost ski areas in Vermont: Waterbury (5), Stowe (4), Morrisville (2), Hyde Park (1), Johnson (1), Jeffersonville (1), and Cambridge (1), at the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum.
Stories include the second rope tow in Vermont, a ski area demolished during the construction of Interstate 89, and another that trucked snow in from New York State during a snow drought. Audience members are encouraged to share their own stories of long-forgotten ski areas located between Waterbury, Morrisville, Cambridge, and beyond.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, and guests are invited to explore the exhibits, including "Searching for Vermont's Lost Ski Areas," before the discussion begins at 6:30 PM. Event admission is $10 and supports the Museum's mission to "collect, preserve, and celebrate Vermont's rich skiing and snowboarding history."
