The East Montpelier Elementary School Board will be holding a public forum, during our Monday, December 15 meeting, to develop the EMES budget with the community. We will begin the forum at 6pm with a brief explanation of the budget planning process and the variables facing the Board for the FY15-16 fiscal year. The Board will inform the community as to which aspects of the budget and tax rate we have control over and then the floor will be opened for input from the community. This forum is not intended to be a discussion but rather an opportunity for the Board to hear the priorities, objectives, and concerns of the community regarding the School budget. In order to ensure community members have ample opportunity to voice their thoughts, the Board will record questions and respond in writing and in future forums rather than address individual questions in this forum. Community input is essential as we construct the budget for next year so that the Board can ensure the budget meets the priorities and wishes of the community.
