Make a New Year's resolution to have more music in your life! The St. Johnsbury Band has just started rehearsals for our 195th season; please join us!
We play a wide variety of concert band music including classic marches from John Phillip Sousa, Broadway showtunes and musicals and historic overtures. We are trying out new releases of Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and the ever popular MacArthur Park most recently featured in 2024 film "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice." Our performance season runs from Memorial Day through late November with weekly summer concerts, weather permitting. All summer concerts offer a free ice crem social for the public sponsored by local businesses and organizations.
All that is required is basic music reading ability and a concert type band instrument. We have strong musicians in each section, so if you need to skip a couple bars here and there while you listen to your part that is okay. You will find us to be a welcoming and fun group to play with. We especially need more trumpets, trombones, oboe and bassoon but all are welcome.
We rehearse at 6:30 PM, Monday evenings inside the Caledonia County Courthouse. Park in the lot behind the Courthouse off Eastern Ave. For more information email manager@stsjohnsburyband.org or call Dave at 802-274-4053. Please call ahead and come early so we can get you situated.
