2025 is a big year for broadband accessibility across Groton. NEK Broadband, doing business as NEKCV, has been awarded a $2.85M USDA Community Connect Grant that will result in a $4.1M project to connect unserved and underserved addresses in Groton with access to high-speed, fiber broadband service. Basically, if your address currently has electrical service via Green Mountain Electric (GMP) or Washington Electric Cooperative (WEC), you can expect to have the option by the end of this year to sign-up for NEKCV's fiber broadband service (if you want to).
