The annual GFWC Castleton Woman's Club Christmas Tree of Remembrance project which funds local scholarship aid is ready to go. Members of the Woman's Club are placing posters containing donation forms in Castleton and Fair Haven appealing to community members to memorialize or honor loved ones with a light during the holiday season. Community members are asked to donate $l.00 or more for each person named, and there is no limit to the number of honorees. The names of those honored will be published in the memorial recognition list appearing in local newspapers.

This year the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will occur at the Castleton Free Library at 6 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Co-sponsored by the Woman's Club and the Castleton Free Library, the holiday event will include storytelling with Jan Jones and a carol sing by the fireplace, refreshments, and a visit from Santa. Skip Fenton will lead Castleton Elementary and Middle School jazz band students in playing holiday favorites. The public is cordially invited.

Donation forms may be obtained from Woman's Club members or at the Castleton and Fair Haven post offices, libraries, and laundromats, the Castleton Village Store, Shaw's, Castleton Family Health Center. Also at Castleton Community Center, Prunier's Market, Castleton Beauty Shop, Sunrise Family Restaurant, and Four Corners CITGO.

Checks may be made payable to the Castleton Woman's Club and sent to Pauline Young, 1186 Route 4A East, Castleton VT 05735.
