The Green Mountain Youth Symphony, including several young musicians from Hardwick, is playing two concerts on Saturday, December 13th, at the Barre Opera House.

At 3:30pm – The Repertory Orchestra, Wind Ensemble & Concert Orchestra will play a mix of classics, pop tunes and familiar favorites including music from Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. These three groups are the beginning and intermediate ensembles within GMYS and have been working hard on this concert since September. Tickets are by a $5 donation at the door. Children are admitted free.

At 7:00pm the GMYS Senior Orchestra presents a program which includes music by Mozart, Copland and Dvořák. The concert also features the Hertel Double Concerto for trumpet and oboe.
