Our December Meeting will feature discussions about a 150th Birthday Party, a very welcome initiative from UVM Student Government about Ward neighborhood engagement, and a Consultant's presentation about UVM's Housing Master Plan.
Meeting in the McClure Lobby Conference room at the Medical Center, our agenda is:
7.00 p.m.: Welcome and Introductions
7.05: City Council Update, Sharon Bushor, Selene Colburn
7.20: School Commissioners Update, Mark Porter
7.30: Speak Out . . . . . at which time we'll be joined by our Ward 8 neighbors.
7.40: Happy 150th Birthday, Burlington!! Amy Barcomb, City 150th Birthday Committee, to talk about the City's Anniversary Plans and gather input from residents.
7.55: Tyler Davis, UVM Student Government, to discuss the work of a "Committee of Student-Resident Ambassadors" to offer continuity of student representation thru'out Burlington's Wards and residential communities.
8.15: The UVM Housing Master Plan, introduced by Lisa Kingsbury, UVM, and presented by: Tom Hier, of Biddison-Hier, Consultant. And by Annie Stevens, UVM Vice Provost, Student Affairs.
This Housing Plan is likely to affect all of us, directly or indirectly. It is hoped that a product of this presentation will be more participatory engagement from UVM, especially around the area of traffic disruption, parking impacts, temporary housing, quality of life, perhaps something similar to the Medical Center/Ward 1 Neighborhood Task Force that has been in place for many years.
9.00: Close
All are enthusiastically invited. UVM is our valued "Neighbor", and participation in discussion ensuing from the Housing Plan presentation is strongly encouraged!
Parking is available in the McClure Parking Garage, compliments of the Medical Center, thanks to them.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
