Ingmar Bergman's masterpiece "The Seventh Seal" will be shown at the Maple Corner Community Center on Friday, January 17, at 7:00 PM. A knight returning to Sweden after the Crusades seeks answers about life, death, and the existence of God as he plays chess against the Death himself during the Black Plague. It is one of the most influential foreign films ever to show in the United States. Roger Ebert: "The directness of Bergman's classic is its strength: this is an uncompromising film, regarding good and evil with the same simplicity and faith as its hero." Rick Winston will introduce the film and lead a discussion afterwards. Admission is $5-10 at the door.
