Harm Reduction Heroes© (HRH) is a peer-mentorship program where participants will build knowledge, skills, & connections that reduce the risks associated with substance use (or other risky behaviors). The program is rooted in the concept "each one teach one": we believe everyone (no matter their identity, age, etc.) has something to learn from, and something to teach, their community, and that it is our duty to share knowledge that empowers others.
During each 90-minute session, we will engage in "missions" to activate the skill-sets embodied in each of the harm reduction "heroes". Specific missions will be chosen based on the interests and learning styles of the group. The program will culminate with the "Expert Level", with participants hosting a public educational event for the community featuring projects highlighting their specific interests, skills, and takeaways from the program. Harm Reduction Heroes© was created by Khonsu X and Titan Potter of Ezili's Respite Farm & Sanctuary, based in Groton, VT.
This program is an intergenerational program designed for ages 12+, and is supported by 302 Cares.
