Family Crankie Workshop

Jan 18, 2025, 12 to 2 PM

In this workshop we will build a Crankie! A Crankie is a theater box with a rolling scroll inside that gets turned to the tune of a song or a poem. We will start from scratch and build a box with a turning mechanism for the scroll. Next, each participant will design and create the scroll, based on a limerick or a song, and rendered in at least five images. Children and their caregivers will build this project together.

At the conclusion of the weekend we will have an informal presentation of the Crankies, before each participant takes their Crankie home.
