Families, caregivers, students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to Champlain Valley School District's Celebrate the Arts and Community Resource Night, Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. at CVU.

From 5-8 p.m., visual and performing arts will be on display from CVSD students enrolled in art classes from across the district. The first floor hallways of the high school will showcase a selection of work from Allen Brook School, Williston Central School, Shelburne Community School, Hinesburg Community School, Charlotte Central School and CVU High School. Beginning at 5:30, musical performances will ring throughout the theater and "four corners" area, including from the CVU High School band, madrigal singers and jazz band, CVSD 8th-grade chorus, a special presentation by cast members of the CVU fall musical, Footloose, and scenes from contemporary American plays.

Beyond traditional visual and performing art, CVU Design & Engineering Technology will be running demonstrations all evening, where the community can see welding, laser cutting and 3D printing. CVU's robotics team, the RoboHawks, will be showing off their competition robot and sharing their design process, and CVU Media Productions will host an open studio.

New for 2025, transportation will be available, with buses from Charlotte Central School, Williston Central School and Shelburne Community School (rides depart these schools for CVU at 4:30 and 6:15 p.m.); and organizations that provide community and family resources will be in attendance. Community resources in attendance include VSAC (hosting two hour-long college financial aid form sessions), ACCESS, and the Champlain Valley Office for Economic Opportunities.

Free Dinner & Dessert
Thanks to generous donations from local restaurants including Good Times Cafe, the Hinesburg Public House, Folino's, Pizza 44, Parkside Cafe, Dragon House and Stone's Throw, dinner and dessert will be served throughout the evening.
