Join us for an engaging exploration of the many advantages native plants bring to home landscapes. Drawing on over 30 years of hands-on experience, Denise's lecture will introduce you to the beauty, resilience, and ecological importance of true native species. Topics include creating rain gardens, shady nooks, sunny spectacles, selecting the right native plants, understanding the unique roles of native plant communities, and recognizing the characteristics that make each plant essential to pollinators. She'll demystify terms like "nativars," "cultivars," and "hybridized" and explain why planting true native species is crucial for preserving our unique biodiversity.
