"A Bridge Across Two Vermonts" with Will Eberle

Jan 7, 2025, 6 PM

Vermont is not immune to issues like addiction, housing insecurity, and poverty. In recent years these overlapping problems have strained resources across the state, and can divide communities as they struggle to find solutions. Join us as we explore ways to surmount the effect of bias and stigma in our community so we can improve the health, happiness, and sense of belonging for all Vermonters.

Bring your questions, concerns, and ideas, and an interest in hearing from your neighbors. As the New Year kicks off, let's get some conversations flowing about how we can build a community of care for our neighbors.

This community discussion is sponsored by Vermont Humanities, as part of the Vermont Reads program. This year's Vermont Reads book, Gather by Vermonter Ken Cadow, is a story that addresses many of the issues we will touch on in this discussion, told through the wise and compassionate voice of a sixteen year boy in rural Vermont. While you don't need to read the book to participate in the discussion, we encourage you to pick up a free copy of the book at the library desk and give it a try!
