The Beat Goes On!! New Year's Eve Celebration returns to Montpelier! coordinated by Shidaa Projects and Lost Nation Theater
A festive celebration of drumming, dancing, music, and theater that's fun for the whole family features artists that have made this community their home for many decades.
Early Afternoon Activities:
12:30pm - Drumming workshop (especially for youth - 30 minutes) in the LNT Lobby
1:30pm - Drumming workshop (especially for youth - 30 minutes) in the LNT Lobby
You must register for these workshops. Space is limited. Drop-ins are welcome, but will likely only be able watch/listen not participate.
The Main Event:
Celebrate with a special performance by Shidaa Projects and Lost Nation Theater at 4pm in the theater.
For this special performance, Shidaa Dance and Drum Troupe will introduce its special guest dancer and choreographer, Samuel Maama Marquaye from Ghana, supported by our own Artistic Director Jordan Mensah with other drum and dance enthusiasts from the community celebrating New Year's Eve through dance drumming. Lost Nation Theater artists include Kathleen Keenan, Taryn Noelle, Susan Reid, and Kim Bent among others.
Be prepared for uplifting rhythms and good energy this New Year's Eve!

Drumming Workshops Free! (tho Donations deeply appreciated!)
Concert Celebration: suggested donation of $15.
Covid Safety Protocols: LNT's State of the Art Bio-Defense Air Purification "Synexis" System is in service 24/7 keeping everyone as safe as possible. LNT encourages audience members to wear masks which performers deeply appreciate, but masks are not required.
The Flood made LNT/City Hall's elevator inoperable, requiring climbing stairs to attend in person. The play will be available digitally to make the show accessible to those unable to physically join us. Please, call (802)229-0492 to discuss alternatives.
