The Friends of the Moretown Memorial Library will hold a book and bake sale at the Moretown Town Hall on August 31st from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations can be dropped off at the town hall between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

When the Moretown Free Library opened in 1905 they had a collection of 124 books. We have 10 of those original books which will be on sale at $5.00 each to the first 10 customers. In March of 1916 the Moretown Public Library sold its collection to the Moretown Free Library for $19.09 which was needed to pay their bills. We have 17 books from that collection which will sell at $4.00 each. Here is an opportunity to purchase a part of the library's history to keep and pass on to your children.

There will also be many donated and discarded books on sale. This is our last book sale of the season; so everything must go, Paperbacks will be $1.00 a bag and hard covers $2.00 a bag.
