CORRECTION to previous post on Dec. 18 about: Deadline for Ballot Petitions to Run for Local Office
My subject line had the wrong date; I'm sorry for the confusion. The legal deadline is the 6th Monday before the election which is Monday, Jan. 27, not Jan. 21. It really helps us if you can submit these petitions sooner. Jan. 27th is past our printer deadline for the town report, and we like to include a list of candidates in the town report.
When: Jan 27, 2025, 5 to 5 PM
Where: Lincoln Town Clerk's Office

Town Meeting 2025 is just around the corner, and your local officials are working hard to prepare for it. Now is the time to circulate petitions to run for office. There will be 17 town and school positions up for election. Here's a link to that list: https://lincolnvermont.org/vertical/sites/%7B53E9A1A8-33C4-4381-8550-24F9124297B8%7D/uploads[...]pdf
In order to run for office, you will need to complete a petition containing signatures of at least 12 Lincoln voters, along with a consent form allowing me to put your name on the ballot. Both documents must be submitted to your town clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.
Blank petitions and consent forms are available on the Town of Lincoln website: https://lincolnvermont.org/index.asp?SEC={7E463528-8693-4D60-BA2D-3F4120E54D73} You can also pick up paper copies of these at the Town Office, in an envelope outside the door. (Available any time, day or night.)
Incumbents, please let us know if you are NOT planning to run again, so people are aware that there will be a vacant position if nobody runs. As always, if you have questions about these jobs, or how to run for office, please ask. If you are uncomfortable asking me, you can also contact the VT Secretary of State's Office.
