Stowe Kids Give is a kid-led, volunteer-only initiative that raises awareness and funds for causes that matter to the next generation. For 2024, Gabriel Letorney, Theo Gaines, Camille Underwood, Harper Jones, Nora Rogers, and Olivia Gabriel are supporting the Stowe Land Trust, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that conserves and protects our town's lands and waters.
The kids launched an online campaign where people can donate directly to the Stowe Land Trust. Additionally, they organized an auction, thanks to the support of over 20 businesses. Some of the items include one week at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Boston, a Kids Burton Custom snowboard, a private tennis lesson at Top Notch, and gift certificates for incredible places like Elevate, The Current, Piecasso, AJs, Stowe Bowling, Stowe Cinema, Michael's On the Hill, The Bench, American Flatbread and so many more.
Finally, the longtime friends are organizing a skating event for kids and their families at the Stowe Arena on Sunday, December 22 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Tickets are included when you fundraise or participate in the auction, or you can purchase them for $5.00 per person on the day of the event.
Gabriel wrote, "Instead of birthday gifts, I like fundraising for causes that matter to kids. Protecting our land is essential for our health, and that's exactly what Stowe Land Trust does for our community." Harper said, "what makes Stowe special is our connection to the—and we must work hard to protect these spaces." Theo added, "I support the Stowe Land Trust because it's important to preserve the land so our community can enjoy biking, hiking, and seeing the scenery. Plus, saving land helps protect animals and their homes, too!"

About Stowe Kids Give
Stowe Kids Give is a kid-led, volunteer-only initiative to raise awareness and funds for causes that matter to the next generation. Started in 2023 by 10-year-old Gabriel Robert Letorney, this initiative brings together kids (17 and under) who want to make a difference, help important causes, and learn how to fundraise and support non-profits.
Every year, a group of kids spend 3 to 4 weeks learning about a non-profit organization they care about, raising money for it, and planning a special event to help out. First, kids meet with the organization's leader to learn about its mission and what it does. Next, they ask local businesses to donate items for an auction or raffle. Then, they share what they've learned with family, friends, and neighbours to raise awareness and money for the non-profit. They also practice speaking at community meetings, school events, and other gatherings to help support the organization even more.
