On Saturday, December 21, at 5 PM, Newfane Church will hold a special grief-tending service—a "Blue Christmas" service—for those of us who need a healthy, sacred space to reflect together on our losses and connect with the difficult feelings we're holding—the loneliness, the lament, the longing.
When everyone around us is celebrating and expressing cheer, it can be especially hard to sit with, let alone express, such feelings. Through quiet reflection, ritual, gentle prayer, and supportive community, our Blue Christmas service offers sacred space to acknowledge and honor our experiences of grief.
Following the service, you're welcome to share in a simple soup and bread supper in the Fellowship Hall. Childcare will be provided, ensuring all who need this space can attend.
