Movie Screening & Panel Discussion of "The Hungry Heart"

Come watch Bess O'Brien's powerful and hopeful documentary about opioid addiction and recovery here in Vermont, and about one doctor's efforts to make a difference. After the screening, stay for a panel discussion featuring Dr. Fred Holmes and Katie Turner from the movie, along with other local recovery activists, and help reimagine how we might address the opioid crisis here in Burlington.

I watched this movie at this year's Middlebury New Film Maker's Film Festival and knew within an instant that Bess needed to bring the film to our community. Yes, it's been out for about a decade. However, the message and overarching topic/themes still ring true. So, I'm delighted that with the help of College Street Congregational, we were able to bring this work (plus Bess herself along with some amazing panelists) to our neighborhood.
