The Big Picture Theater is hosting a community holiday party!
The Big Picture Theater & Cafe, which closed its doors on November 9 to re-evaluate its future, will host a day of gathering and celebration.
On Saturday, December 21 the beloved community space will offer a variety of cheerful events - all free to the public.
It is an invite for the Mad River Valley to come together around film, food, contemplations of the future, storytelling and song.
The day will start with a matinee screening of "It's a Wonderful Life" - a classic holiday movie about how each person's life enriches their community and how a town comes together. After that, the longstanding tradition of sharing in the joy of caroling will commence with Carey Bennett at the piano and everyone who wants to harmonize with their neighbors. Following the caroling will be a potluck dinner with the theme of "What does community mean to you?" Claudia Becker, owner of the Big Picture Theater & Cafe, will share some thoughts about the future of this important community hub and invite people to become part of the solution.
The celebrations will end with a Moth Story Telling themed "Stories of Solstice and Transformation", hosted by Phantom Theater.
All events are free and will take place at the Big Picture Theater & Cafe.
The bar will be open to purchase drinks.
