The Progressives are the champions of the people. Its principles and platform focus on the well-being of all Vermonters. Progressive legislators are expected to champion the people in all legislation. Progressives know that the well-being of all people takes precedence regardless of how it effects the distribution of wealth. Health, housing, good jobs, education, a strong social net trumps the amassing of excessive wealth. Progressives know that there will not be peace, and never has been peace, until everyone is fed. A true Progressive doesn't just talk the talk, but walks the walk. Their actions are expected to reflect Progressive Party principles of fairness, equality, justice, respect, democracy. It has always been this way for the Progressives. They are the conscience of the Legislature.
