That 2012 tragedy in Newtown, CT, spurred the creation of GunSense VT, which has gone forward to spearhead public safety reforms in the Green Mountain State (e.g., waiting periods; safe storage; raised purchase age of a firearm; extreme risk protection orders/ERPO; background checks; banned guns in polling places; banned ghost guns; banned straw purchasers; domestic violence protection; and limited magazine capacity).
We still have work to do: Gun Violence is the Number 1 cause of death of U.S. children (Source: ATF Director Steven Dettlebach) Our nation suffered 650 mass shootings in 2023 with 43,042 deaths. More than 36,000 survived with crippling injuries (Source: ATF Director Dettlebach).
Join us on Dec. 12th. Light a candle & stand with us. (We'll provide candles if you need.)
