Opening Reception for Art Exhibit by Elizabeth Auer

Dec 15, 2024, 5 to 6 PM

Please join for the opening reception for an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Elizabeth Auer. The reception takes place on the same afternoon as the free Advent concert held at 4 pm at the same location, to which you are also cordially invited. See the Front Porch Forum event listing for the concert, called "The Earth is Singing", for more information.

Elizabeth, , a close friend and colleague of Lotta Suter and Rob Griffin, died in September of this year. She was an artist and teacher, associated for many years with Pine Hill Waldorf School in Wilton NH. She also wrote several books, including "Learning to See the World through Drawing" and "Creative Pathways: Activities that Strengthen the Child's Cognitive Forces". The paintings in this exhibition are taken from two of Elizabeth's collaborations with Rob Griffin and Lotta Suter. The color paintings are her illustrations for Rob's book "The Midwife of Bethlehem", based on the libretto for his chamber opera of the same name premiered in 2010. The pencil drawings are some of the illustrations for Lotta's book of poems "What I Love: Poems of Green Forest".
