The December 6, 7 & 8, 2024 weekend at the LH Stowell & Son Christmas Tree Farm is coming up. The Thanksgiving weekend was a big success with bake sales each day and lots of nice customers. This Saturday and Sunday the East Randolph Fire Department Auxiliary will be putting on the Bake Sales including hot food and drinks. They have conducted delicious bakes sales here for many years. Please support our local organizations. It is really nice to have a snack or lunch in our warm Christmas Barn before, during and/or after your search for the perfect tree.
The current weather forecast is for accumulating snow with gusty winds and below freezing temperatures starting this afternoon (Wednesday) and ending Thursday night. This weekend will have cool temps and some wind. Sunny on Friday and Saturday, cloudy on Sunday. We plan to plow/snow blow the snow on Friday morning and will be ready for business on Friday. Dress warm in layers and warm up in our Christmas barn as needed. Sandals and shorts may not be a good clothing choice.
We still have wreaths available. We continue to have fresh pre-cut trees at a reduction in price. These are trees that are in one or more blocks that we wish to clear and start over with a new planting. Our hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Coming on Fridays is a good way to avoid the crowds.
There is a warning on many of the mapping/GPS services stating that Twin Pond Road is closed. Not completely true. The best way to come is from East Street. The East Street sign at its intersection with Route 65 is missing but I will put up a temporary sign. The access from Route 14 can be a real adventure because the middle of Twin Pond Road is class 4 and not plowed. Therefore, come from East Street because it is plowed and sanded.
We have 12 species of trees available including Balsam Fir, Fraser Fir, Canaan Fir, Blue Spruce and Pine. We continue to have a few big trees. These will take extra time to harvest so please give us a call before you come or come early or both.
We accept cash, local checks and credit or debit cards. The electric trains are working. Our Maple Candy will be well stocked. We hope to see you soon. 802-276-3382. LH Stowell & Son, 1591 Twin Pond Road, Brookfield, VT 05036.
