Vermont Suitcase Company Comes to Wardsboro

Wardsboro Curtain Call is delighted to host Vermont Suitcase Company's winter tour production of The Continuing Adventure of Good King Wenceslas and his Page, Edith. The event will be at Wardsboro Town Hall on Thursday, December 19, at 7pm.

Vermont Suitcase Company is a Brattleboro-based theater group with this mission: "Vermont Suitcase Company tours live, active theater to Vermont towns. We bring community people together to laugh with us and with each other."

Their 5th Summer Tour was completed this past July; this presentation is part of the 2nd Winter Tour. From their GoFundMe page, "We want theater that should be washed down with pizza and your favorite beverage. … Your gift helps us raise the curtains, costume our actors, and pay them a living wage so they can step away from their other worlds and do the work they love deeply."

Good King Wenceslas, a Winter Tale for Winter People was performed for their first Winter Tour in 2023, with this description. "Follow Good King Wenceslas and his page, Edith, across the deep and crisp and even snow of Medieval Europe in the comedic search for meaning and goodness. This play delves deep between the stanzas of everyone's favorite Christmas carol, delighting audiences with quick-paced physical comedy, stage music, and puppets, all performed by four actors. … FUN and FUNNY for Every Age!"

Admission is by donation, all of which will go to Vermont Suitcase Company to help them continue to bring live theater to Vermont towns.
