Winter Solstice Celebration & Retreat Day at Talta

Dec 21, 2024, 10 AM to 2 PM

Hosted by Laura Neal & Jessica Lantos

The Winter Solstice marks a significant moment, bringing the longest night of the year and the beginning of the gradual return of light as the days start to lengthen. Winter Solstice is the moment we honor the magnificent sun and that on the darkest night it is born again – bringing a new year of life & growth with it.

The Winter Solstice Celebration is a day retreat designed for celebrating the return of light while honoring the seasonal slow down. This transformative event combines practices that aim to stir up and release stuck emotions and energy through ecstatic dance and transformational breathwork , while also offering opportunity for rest and reflection through yin yoga, energy healing and hot cold therapy.

Nature's rhythms and cycles show us that now it a time to slow down, or even stop and turn inwards, reflecting and letting go of that which no longer serves us, so we can make room for the light and new energy as it slowly returns.

This quieter time of doing less and being more allows us to be our full, lively, productive selves in the warmer months.

A flower does not bloom all year round…it buds, blossoms, dies and is reborn…

Yin Yasa: We start with a slow yoga flow to warm the muscles and connect with the breath and body. The practice ends with yin yoga, a gentle practice focused on passive stretching and relaxation. Reiki Energy healing will be offered during the yin postures to support the body in restoring balance and harmony within.

Ecstatic Dance: A free-flowing movement practice to help participants express emotions, release tension, and reconnect with their bodies.

Transformational Breathwork: a somatic practice that will guide you out of the mind and into the body. This simple, yet profound type of breathwork will gain access to parts of our subconscious not available in our daily lives. This breathwork touches the spiritual, physical and mental realms and allows us to connect deeper to our hearts and emotions. You will be guided through the breath journey using instruments, essential oils, music, movement, energy healing and grounding touch.
