Our Anti-Racism Book Discussion Group meets monthly to talk about books by black and indigenous writers, including fiction, history, biography, autobiography and poetry.
Some of the books we have read are "The Fire Next Time" and "Notes of a Native Son" by James Baldwin, "Beloved" by Toni Morrison, "James" by Percival Elliott, "American Sunrise" (poetry) by Joy Harjo, and "We Who Walk the Seven Ways", a memoir by Terra Trevor. Trevor is of mixed ancestry, including Cherokee and Seneca.
This month we are reading " The Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States" by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz .
We meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm on Zoom - some of our members are geographically scattered, so Zoom makes it possible for everyone to participate.
New members are welcome. Please contact me for more information or to request a Zoom link for our next meeting.
