Step into Action: Recovery Walk Sept. 8

Past event
Sep 8, 2013, 11 AM

The women of Oxford House and the Turning Point Center of Chittenden County are teaming up to host the 1st annual STEP INTO ACTION: RECOVERY WALK on SEPTEMBER 8TH at OAKLEDGE PARK in BURLINGTON

One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the Turning Point Center of Chittenden County, a safe and drug-free place that provides a variety of support services to those seeking recovery from drug and or alcohol addiction. Individuals and families in Chittenden County are affected by mental disorders, and/or substance abuse disorders each day. Every person affected by behavioral health issues has a reason to celebrate their story and accomplishments in an effort to help others who may be in need of help. Too often you only hear about the negatives of addiction, we want to celebrate the successes!

Our event will take September 8, 2013 during National Recovery Month. Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover.

Register at 10 am and the walk will take off at 11 am. Following the 5K will be food, music, lawn games, and a chinese auction featuring donations from local companies such as:

The Guild, Panera Bread, Sweetwater's, VT Coffee Roasters, Nate's Automotive, Leonardo's Pizza, South End Studio, Merril Roxy Movie Theater, American Flatbread, BVT Threads, 44 Life, Bolton Valley, UVM Athletics, Pizzeria Verita, Hotel Vermont, The Edge, Alex and Ani, Homeport, Ben & Jerry's, and many more!

Contact Laura Kessen at stepintoactionvt@gmail.com with any questions.

HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE!
