To my constituents,
Today marks the Wednesday, that SevenDays has printed a quarter-page advertisement indicating that only one of the two candidates for SPEAKER of the HOUSE, has signaled agreeability to participate in the in-person event on Saturday, December 14th, at 1PM, as Laura Sibilia's Chief of Staff (former Rep. Lucy Rogers [D-Waterville] indicated via email correspondence directly to both the host, the White River Valley Chamber, as well as directly to Chandler personnel on Wednesday November 20th.
The email did suggest to offer interpretation of incumbent Speaker Krowinski's current position regarding her responsive intent, as to their invitation to the Saturday, December 14th debate, but that is not something I am willing to reiterate, as it is purportedly third hand reactionary information to a very straightforward invite from November 11th. I also don't want to mischaracterize such relayed information because it is unclear insomuch as the reasoning suggested as to why the incumbent Speaker has yet to commit, is not at all rational, especially from a political perspective.
Anybody interested in said 'suggested reasoning' is welcome to call the Speaker's office or the Chamber, but I would suggest sticking to the directive delivered by the above mentioned Seven Days advertisement.... which is to call or email the Sergeant-at-Arms, Agatha Kessler (sgtatarms@leg.state.vt.us ... or ... akessler@leg.state.vt.us) 802-828-2228 to tell YOUR State Reps and Senators that you would like to see them each attend the debate on December 14th if they are available, but also to kindly ask the current SPEAKER of the HOUSE Jill Krowinski [D-Burlington] to commit to participating in the in-person event sooner than later so that the Chamber and the Chandler can finalize details.
I feel confident that today's Speaker, will ultimately embrace this privileged opportunity, as an honor, and that the debate will shape up to be the community constructive politically transparent experience it was designed to be.
