Hello Community,
The City Council will hold their next regular meeting on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 6:30 in the Auditorium of City Hall. At that meeting I will present the City's proposed FY26 Budget. This is following Council discussion in September, a survey to the community in October, and lots of time spent by your City staff team to build out options for the Council to consider. The Council will receive the budget on December 2nd, hold a retreat on December 12th, and then have additional conversations among themselves and with the community on December 16th, January 6th, and January 13th. We'd love to hear from you!
Additional highlights for the meeting on Monday night include:
• A request from Champlain Housing Trust to re-envision their previous allocation of $400,000 of ARPA funding to support weatherization at Dorset Commons
• A request to construct an eruv to allow for the carrying on the Jewish Sabbath Burlington with a border running approximately from Queen City Park Road down Swift Street, and then Spear Street to East Terrace crossing Williston Road to Catamount Drive
• A discussion of the Long View project at 1720 and 1730 Spear Street.
