Join Vermont Friends of Standing Together and the UVM Interfaith Center for an inspiring evening with A Chance to Meet, a collective of artists and activists from Gaza and Israel who have been working in secrecy to connect and create art since 2019.
Their mission is to foster understanding and bridge the divide between Gaza and Israel/Palestine through art and storytelling.
This event will allow us a unique opportunity to engage directly with their artwork, listen to their stories, and create art together.
What to Expect:
Community Engagement: Connect with others in a safe, supportive environment dedicated to peace, solidarity, and social justice.
Artists' Dialogue: Hear firsthand experiences and the challenges faced by artists working across barriers of conflict.
Interactive Art Creation: Bring your favorite portable art materials, like markers or Fimo clay (some materials will be provided).
Event Guidelines:
To ensure the safety and privacy of the artists, please note:
In-Person Only: No recordings or photography are allowed.
Donations Welcome: 100% of monetary donations go directly to support the artists, especially those in Gaza who face severe survival challenges. Contributions are accepted in cash, checks, or via PayPal.
