Hello -
Here's a short update on 58 Grafton doings:
* Lil's served food on 32 days for a total of 152 hours this fall. We haven't compiled the yearly meal count data but let's just say it was plenty! Special thanks to our customers (roughly 40% repeat the final week!), our partners (West River Valley Thrives, Green Mountain Ramen, Leyluma's Global Feasts, & Joe Lobster Roll), and all who supported the cause in other ways. We definitely feel the community's love & gratitude!
* Providing tasty affordable meals w local ingredients is central to our mission as is fostering community. Observing people introducing themselves to and chatting with other customers, running into friends, choosing to share a table w strangers rather than take out as planned, reacquainting themselves with neighbors, and simply taking time out to sit and relax a bit was heart-warming indeed. Thank you for appreciating the comfy space we are co-creating.
* Onward – first off-season pop-up! On Sunday, Dec 1st, we'll be celebrating Friendsgiving w any and all! From 3-7pm, Lil's will be open for take-out of Filipino fare cooked by Marilyn. To start, she is focusing on lumpia (egg rolls) & pancit (rice noodles) but may have more. Please note - if you are planning to order for more than 3 people, pre-orders would be helpful (email 58graftonrocks@gmail.com or call 802-365-1056 before 11pm on Wednesday, Nov 27. We'll reply). Pricing info is posted on FB and will be sent to our mailing list.
* Also on Dec 1st, we are dedicating The Friendship House to the spirit of friendships, old and new. Please join us 3-4pm for a brief blessing, finger foods, and hot drinks. Some will know that it was built as a memorial to my long-time best friend Francesca who we lost to despair earlier this year. Our sincere hope is that 58 Grafton will serve as a refuge from all kinds of despair in months & years to come.
May your holidays be full of love, peace, and even joy!
In friendship and community,
Nan Stefanik
