The Queen City Saints are celebrating their 13th Anniversary "Flip Hunger the Bird" Turkey Drive presented by Queen City Saints & the Intervale Center to benefit Feeding Champlain Valley and the Intervale's Fair Share Program.
Thirteen years ago, co-founders Megan Frenzen and Jerica Dizki collected turkeys from friends and family in pickup trucks at the end of their driveways to benefit those in need for the holiday season. More than a decade later, this successful turkey drive has helped feed thousands in need during the holiday season.
Without the efforts of each and every Saint, families in Chittenden County would not have turkeys or holiday meals. Intervale Fair Share and Feeding Champlain Valley depend on Flip Hunger the Bird to source turkeys and other meats for their families each year. The Queen City Saints, through individual efforts and donations collect needed turkeys for these critical food security organizations at the busiest time of year.
This year, the highest need is for actual turkey's and other cuts of holiday meats.
Those able to participate can drop off a turkey or smaller cut (ham, turkey breast, chickens, etc) on Sunday, November 24, or if they cannot make it, donations are welcomed. All as part of our mission:
EVERY. FAMILY. FED.
If you or your family or someone you know is experiencing food insecurity this holiday season, please contact Feeding Chittenden or your local food bank for support. Or contact the Queen City Saints and we'll make sure you have a holiday meal.
Thank you to our Partners! The Intervale Center, Feeding Champlain Valley, Hannaford Supermarkets, Harringtons of Vermont, and Radiance Medical Aesthetics and Wellness Spa.
