"South Hero Players is back…just in time for Christmas!

Founded in 1976 as our town's very first community theater troupe, South Hero Players produced at least one show a year for decades. And then, whelp, covid happened…and we were forced to take a bit of a hiatus. Now, we are beyond excited to FINALLY be "getting the band back together."

Our comeback show is taking place at the perfect time to help our community get into the joy and cheer of the holiday season.

"It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" will open at Snow Farm Winery the first week in December.

Inspired by the beloved holiday classic film, "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. With the help of a small ensemble cast that brings a few dozen characters (and all the sound effects) to life on stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

The show is directed by South Hero resident Kim Julow and stars a talented cast of Vermont actors from throughout the Lake Champlain Islands and beyond. It promises to be a fun and festive outing that community members and visitors of all ages will absolutely love.

There will be a total of four shows, including three nighttime performances on December 5th, 6th, and 7th at 7:30pm, and one matinee at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 8th."
