On Sunday, December 1, 2024, Bethel will host a small event in conjunction with the fourth annual Light Up Bethel campaign. Light Up Bethel started as part of a grant initiative to help support Main Street businesses during the Water Main Project. Businesses decorated their store fronts and town properties were decorated with hundreds of cheerful lights. It was happily received and so each year a little more is added to enhance the downtown.
This year the Bethel Library will host activities for children from 4pm-4:40pm. At 4:45pm the Bethel Fire Department will bring Santa to town on their trucks and then be available in the Town Hall parking lot for children to see and touch.
At 5pm the lights on Main Street will magically come on, and Santa will walk to the Blossom Block where he will be available for a meet and greet with children until 6pm. The Bethel Rotary will provide milk/juice and cookies. Project Happy Holidays will have boxes available for toy collections. If you are able, please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy for a child in our area for the holidays.
