Vermont author, carver, and painter Tim Brookes will speak at the Huntington Public Library about his newest book, "Endangered Alphabets: Writing Systems on the Verge of Vanishing. Mr. Brookes will also bring along a so carved a lovely wood carving in Abeneki created for the Library that says "The Language of Ancestors." The discussion of language will be focused on the digital convergence and globalization of the future of the written word. For anyone who loves language, both written and oral, this is sure to be an intriguing event.
