The Champlain Valley Lions Club will host a Thanksgiving Food Drive on Saturday. Lions volunteers aim to collect more than 500 pounds of non perishable food household and personal care items, all of which will be donated to the Shelburne Food Shelf in time for Thanksgiving . Cash donations will also be accepted and presented to the Food Shelf. Fixings for a Thanksgiving meal will be especially appreciated: gravy, canned veggies, canned squash and pumpkin pie filling or pie crust mix. The Lions will also accept used eyeglasses in good condition, which will be refurbished and donated to people in need.
