Learning to Smile at Fear
with Myra Woodruff
5 Mondays, November 18 - December 16th
Mondays, 6- 8 pm
Fear is rampant in our world: the basic anxiety of groundlessness, the uncertainty of our health, our lives, our families, as well as great fear for the future of our planet and our civilization.
This topic is at the heart of warriorship itself. Here a "warrior" is someone who is not afraid of facing who they are and to be themselves. The study of our own fear can be approached in a very direct, everyday, personal way.
We are proclaiming the possibility of a sane, brave and outrageous relationship with fear. In this course we would like to offer a taste of unconditional fearlessness and bravery in order to reveal true confidence.
A main method of working with fear in a wholehearted way is through meditation practice - staying present with whatever might arise. Then we begin to appreciate fear and the tenderness that underlies it as the basis of sanity.
Join us in this journey together.
To get a sense of the orientation of this class, we suggest you might listen to Pema Chodron in her YouTube video on working with fearlessness:
