The Twentieth Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the area's seniors and their families will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the Waterbury Senior Center. The dinners are given at no charge as a way for the community to say 'Thank You' to its' seniors for helping to make our communities the caring and supportive places that they are.
Albert Caron, owner of Waterbury Service Center and chief organizer of the event, started this event in 2003 and it now has become a holiday tradition in Waterbury (except during COVID). The dinner begins at noon and everyone 65 or older may bring up to four family members who will also receive dinners at no charge.
Reservations for dining in and take out meals need to be made by calling the Waterbury Senior Center at 802-244-1234. All requests must be received by Monday, November 25th. We are not able to provide delivered meals or accommodate walk-ins.
All time to prepare, cook, serve, decorate the dining room, provide gifts and cleanup is done by volunteers. Some of the food is donated by local businesses or individuals.
If you would like to donate food, money for gifts or unwrapped gifts for seniors please call Albert Caron at 802-244-7202 or Marge Gulyas at 802-793-0879.
