Local bookseller, Ben Koenig, has been researching the life and writings of Dorothy Canfield Fisher. Fisher was a best-selling Vermont author who died almost seventy years ago. Recently phrases from her writings have been used against her and the Vermont Department of Libraries removed her name from the "Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award." Koenig believes this action should never have taken place. His findings prove that Fisher was an admirable literary figure and social activist whose name and reputation should instead be honored. He will present his findings at 7:00 PM, on Friday, November 15th, in Marshfield, at the Jaquith Public Library. Admission is free.
