Hi Neighbors,
As Candide said, in the eponymous work by Voltaire, "We must cultivate our garden".
Our next Ward 1 Neighborhood Planning Assembly (NPA) meeting is on Wednesday 11/13 from 6:30-8:30 at the Friends Meeting House, 173 North Prospect St. Beyond the usual opportunity to express whatever is on your mind about the Ward and the City, we have limited the agenda to two topics, both of which will likely be on our Town Meeting Day ballot next March. But before the formal start of the meeting, we will ask for some input (as in "post-its" on the wall) from the gathered assembly on a topic of general interest to the community.
You can find the agenda and zoom coordinates here:

First, after or during the City Council update, Tim, as a member of the Charter Change Committee, will describe a potential charter change ballot item concerning redistricting, and bringing the power to redistrict back to the city. Currently, districting is in the City Charter, so changes require Legislative approval.
After that, Megan Moir from DPW Water Resources will discuss bonds for renewing our wastewater and storm water systems and prioritizing drinking water infrastructure. This represents a major investment in our city and it is important we all understand it.
Did I mention that Selene will be feeding us again? That in itself makes the trip worthwhile!
Be strong,
Jonathan, for the Ward 1 NPA Steering Committee
