Halfmoon Movement & Healing Arts is offering our Tuesday morning Qigong class for free on Tuesday 11/12/24 for anyone curious about Qigong. Class is from 9-10am in the Barn off the Common, 1631 N Craftsbury Rd.
Qigong, pronounced "chi gong", is a traditional Chinese movement practice using simple exercises, postures and meditation to optimize energy within the body, mind, and spirit, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being.
Qi is energy that flows through the body that can become blocked or stagnant, leading to health issues. Qigong aids in releasing this stagnant Qi, bringing many health benefits including improved circulation, stronger immune function, reduced stress levels, and improved posture and balance.
Qigong movements are typically gentle and smooth, focusing on full range of motion without strain or pain, and includes focused attention to regulate and stabilize the mind. Breath is slow, gentle and deep, assisting the movements and postures.
Qigong is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which also includes acupuncture and herbal medicine. Integrative medicine practitioners may use qigong to complement conventional medical treatment. For more information or questions email MicheleHalfmoon@gmail.com
